Ecommerce stores and custom marketplaces. Built to sell, not just to look good.
A business online store is more than a catalog with a checkout button: it has to take payments securely, know what's in stock, rank on Google and load fast on a phone. Rival Studio builds stores on platforms like Shopify or WooCommerce when they fit, and custom stores or marketplaces when your business model calls for it. We've built booking, payments and marketplace platforms, and everything we deliver is owned by your company.

Should you use Shopify, WooCommerce or a custom build?
It depends on how you sell, not on what's trending. An off-the-shelf platform gets you live faster and covers the common cases; a custom build makes sense when your sales process doesn't fit a template. A rough guide:
- Shopify: a standard catalog, a fast launch and a team that wants to manage the store without developers.
- WooCommerce: you already run WordPress or need more control over content and plugins.
- Custom: customer-specific pricing, quotes, subscriptions, bookings or business rules a template can't handle.
- Custom marketplace: multiple vendors or locations, each with its own catalog, orders and payouts.
What goes into a custom marketplace?
A marketplace connects many sellers with many buyers, and that changes the architecture. Beyond the storefront, you have to decide who sells what, how each payment is split and who can see or change each piece of data. In a custom build we handle:
- Vendor onboarding and verification, with a dedicated vendor dashboard.
- Per-vendor catalogs with listing rules and moderation.
- Split payments and vendor payouts.
- Role-based permissions and an audit log for sensitive actions.
- An admin console to run operations, handle disputes and monitor activity.
How do you handle payments, inventory and ERP integration?
We integrate local and international payment gateways based on where you sell and how your customers pay. Payments are processed by the gateway, so your store never stores card data.
To keep you from selling what you don't have, we connect the store to your ERP, inventory system or spreadsheets through APIs or integrations, syncing products, stock levels, pricing and orders. Your team stops re-keying orders by hand.
How do you make the store fast and easy to find?
A store that doesn't show up on Google or takes too long to load on mobile loses sales. From the design stage we cover:
- Technical SEO: category and product pages with search-ready titles, descriptions and structured data.
- Performance against Google's Core Web Vitals, with optimized images.
- Separate URLs per language if you sell in English, Spanish or both, including to Hispanic customers in the US.
- Analytics on visits, carts and purchases, so you can see where shoppers drop off.
Why work with a nearshore team in Colombia?
We're based in Bogotá, in a time zone aligned with US Eastern and Central time, so reviews and launches happen during your business day. Our team is bilingual and works fully in English.
What happens after launch?
An online store is a living sales channel: products, pricing, seasons and platform requirements keep changing. After launch we can support you with maintenance, security updates, improvements based on what your analytics show and new features as the business needs them.
If you want more shoppers, we connect the store with your Meta and Google Ads campaigns and your brand, so everything looks and is measured as one system.

Frequently asked questions
Do we own the store and the data?
Yes. The domain, platform accounts, payment gateway account and source code are all in your company's name.
Can our team manage products and orders?
Yes. You get an admin panel to add products, update pricing and manage orders without depending on us.
Can you migrate our existing store?
Yes. We move products, customers and content, and redirect old URLs so you keep the search rankings you've earned.
How long does it take?
It depends on scope. A platform-based store launches sooner than a custom marketplace; we work in phases, and each one ends with something working.
